Studio Barre

1What if I have never done barre?

That’s perfect! Beginning any new workout comes with a learning curve. You will notice by your fifth class that your core has gotten noticeably stronger and what was once difficult is getting easier. Keep in mind that the Studio Barre workout is constantly changing. All Studio Barre workout routines are changed quarterly and the warm up is flipped every six weeks to keep those muscles guessing. These techniques have been consistently evaluated, perfected and designed to develop strong and lean, dancer-like bodies without having years of technical training. Our highly trained instructors ensure that every client is comfortable with our technique and is working at a safe and effective level through hands-on corrections, verbal cues and demonstration.

2What is the best attire for a barre class?

Leave your traditional ballet babe leotards and tutus at home! To gain the most from your barre class, you must wear grippy socks (available in our boutique) accompanied by leggings, a comfortable top that covers your midriff. Studio Barre classes focus on a specific muscle group at one time, and therefore it is important to keep your idle muscles warm until they are ready to become the focus.

3How often should I take class to see results?

As a beginner, a great start would be 2 to 3 times a week, but to get the most out of your barre workout and see the quickest transformation, you will want to increase your workouts to 3 to 4 times a week. Whether you are a newbie or barre maven status, it doesn’t ever get easy... for too long. Class choreography is constantly being updated to avoid that pesky muscle adaptation so that each class remains funky fresh and you’re constantly being challenged with new versions of our traditional favorites. Above all, we highly recommend you listen to your body. If you need to modify your workout one day, or need to sit cardio snack out, we encourage it. You know YOU best!

4What do you love most about barre?

Barre workouts are the most effective and efficient way to get the long and lean ballerina body you’ve always wanted. Whether it’s your first class or you’re a centurion {100 or more classes} to the barre technique, with quality instruction, it’s designed to challenge you at any age and any fitness level. In class you will receive motivating, personalized training in a musically driven, dance studio inspired environment. If you are having issues with a particular exercise, we encourage you to ask your barre{tender} for additional instruction after class. We are always here to tuck you up!

5What makes barre class special or different from other types of workouts?

Although there are elements of traditional yoga and pilates, barre is a workout like none other. There is good reason for the rapid growth and popularity of the Studio Barre technique. With little or no equipment involved, it will change your body in only a few classes by creating sexy definition in your arms, a lifted seat, and lean thighs. No need to spend hours at the gym or pay for a personal trainer….merely 60 minutes in a barre class, 3 to 4 times a week, and you will have addressed every muscle group and truly feel fully worked!

6What changes can I expect to see from Studio Barre?

After taking just a few barre classes, clients already see and feel a difference. They stand taller and feel more toned. The barre technique focuses on strengthening the core by improving posture and proper alignment, while sculpting those trouble spots like the lower and upper abs, seat, seat smile, as well as inner and outer thighs. Your whole body will be thanking you and shaking {in a hurt so good kind of way} after class.
